October 2013 UPDATE ON PROGRESS

Dear Resident,

Have a great evening and volunteer for action.

Phase 1 of the project to rebuild the village hall is now firmly under way. Having identified that there was asbestos we engaged contractors to both remove it and demolish the hall. This they did during the week of 7th October and the site is now clear for phase 1 of the rebuilding. Phase 1 is the extension of the slab and putting in drainage, erection of the shell and installation of the new sewage plant. This has been programmed to be completed by end January. Contractors have been identified and funding is fully in place.

We have appointed a project manager to oversee phase 2 which is the full fitting out of the shell and construction of the veranda. We have the bulk of the funding in place for this phase but are
still need £10,000 from private donations to meet our target of £70,000 from this source.

To help fill this gap Joanna Thorpe has arranged a

Quiz Night and Supper at Cripps Barn on 29th November .

This should be a real fun evening and many thanks to Mark Henriques who is providing not just the venue but also the supper. Please contact Joanna on jo@thorpmay.co.uk for more details.

Alternatively if you would like to make a cash donation please go to Bemycharity.com
and enter Coln Valley Village Hall in the search box or send a cheque to our treasurer Louisa Burdett, School House, Coln Rogers, GL54 3LB.

We are grateful to the Gloucestershire Environmental Trust and Cory Environment
Limited, The Cotswold Conservation Board Sustainable Development Fund and the
Cotswold District Council Community Project Fund for their financial support.
